The Department of Labor's (DOL's) new regulations governing the payment of overtime to salaried employees may affect
your company. Employees whose salaries are less than $47,476 per year will be entitled to overtime compensation as of
Dec. 1. DOL calculates 22.5 million workers potentially are affected by the new regulations, including 130,000
construction industry workers.
In 2015, NRCA's Workforce Solutions Committee commissioned a survey of current roofing employees to identify what
compels them to join a roofing company and what keeps them there. The results of the survey, which was offered in
English and Spanish, offer insight about how roofing companies can better recruit and retain more employees capable of
developing successful careers in the roofing industry.
